OHSAS 18001 will soon be replaced by ISO 45001, the new health and safety standard that is internationally recognised and promises to make the workplace even safer. Migrating to ISO 45001 is straightforward and will bring a number of benefits to your organisation.

The process

It is quick and easy to migrate your certification and start winning new business.

  • Migration gap analysis

Your migration begins with a visit from your dedicated Auditor. There’s no pressure for this assessment; it’s simply to identify where your organisation is already meeting the requirements of ISO 45001.

  • Report

We will send you a report to confirm if your organisation is meeting the requirements of ISO 45001, and highlighting any steps or documentation you will need.

  • Assessment

Your Auditor will return to complete the migration, and your new certification will be issued. This visit will be part of your next annual assessment to reduce your costs, but we can conduct it sooner.

Migrating makes it easy to add more standards

ISO 45001 is built on the same framework as other standards, so it's easy and cost-effective to achieve further standards.

When do I need to migrate?

The deadline for migration is 11th March 2021, although you might find it easier to migrate sooner. Aside from avoiding the rush, an earlier migration will bring a number of benefits to your organisation.

ISO 45001 takes a more proactive approach to managing occupational health and safety, and thereby reduces the risk of accidents, claims and costs even further than OHSAS 18001.

Why should I migrate before the deadline?

1. Easier implementation

The structure of ISO 45001 is based on the same framework as other ISO standards, such as ISO 9001. So if you’ve already implemented one standard, the process of migrating to ISO 45001 will be more streamlined.

2. Staff involvement

Rather than delegating responsibility to a safety manager, ISO 45001 requires all staff to undergo health and safety education and training, including management, so there is safety oversight everywhere in the workplace.

3. Risk vs hazard

The proactive approach to managing health and safety means that potential dangers are identified in advance, preventing more accidents than the previous approach of controlling known hazards.

4. Get an edge on competitors

Many of your competitors will likely wait for the deadline before migrating to the new standard. Migrating early will demonstrate to stakeholders and clients that your organisation takes safety seriously and mark you as a market leader when it comes to upholding high standards. This could give you the edge when trying to impress potential clients.

How much will migrating to ISO 45001 cost?

The cost of your ISO 45001 certification will be quoted on a fixed fee basis, reducing your worry about additional costs.

There are three elements to your migration:

  • ISO 45001 Gap Analysis: £995 + VAT
  • ISO 45001 Surveillance Assessment: your standard annual assessment fee applies
  • Issue of new ISO 45001 certificate: FREE.

We always provide a fixed fee with no hidden costs to worry about. We also offer a variety of payment plans to suit your budget. Contact us today to find out more.
